I should forward this to the "bugs..." email as well, but I tried what you said above. It worked; however, it added a minimum of 1 extra pixel to the exported graphic. I did this at both 32x32 and 256x256, and made sure that only the selected objects were exported. In the case of the larger graphic, it added about a 2-3 pixel buffer around the exported file, so I trimmed that out, but the graphic was still 1px x 1px larger than the specified export size.

I suspect it might have to do with the graphic's anti-aliased border being factored into the resizing math.

Still good work!

Thanks!

Thank you for your kind words.

Currently, we don't plan to add pixels as a unit of meaure. If you are planning to export your document as a bitmap image, you might simply want to set your unit to millimeters and pretend that one millimeter is one pixel.

Then, when you export the resulting image, simply specify a width and height in pixels which matches the with and height in millimeters. This should do the trick; the only thing which would require adjustment in an external bitmap tool would be the resolution (dpi).

Hope this helps.

I am not sure that I understand what you are looking for. This is how the image object works for now, when you import an image:

The imported image is always adjusted in order to fill the available space, without cropping or distorting any pixels. The original aspect ratio is, therefore, always preserved.

If you want to distort the aspect ratio, you have to click on the Keep proportions button off first.

Can you please elaborate or provide us (bugs at creativedocs dot net) an image with which Creative Docs .NET misbeahaves? Thanks.

Well, I came across this from a CNET blog archive, and I am impressed - I may not need to go use Illustrator after all. Very, VERY smooth!

Do you plan on adding pixels to the ruler units of measure - this would help with the web graphics side of things, along with SVG, though I suspect that pixel measures will be simpler.

Thanks and awesome job!

Easy, but maybe not obvious; everything happens in the Properties panel, on the right. When the rectangle tool is selected, you'll see a "Line color" and "Surface color" palette appear there. Click on the color sample, which pops up a color chooser widget at the bottom of the panel. You can then change the color before you draw.

Alternatively, draw, then select the object and change its color using the same technique: click on the small color sample and change it by using the color wheel or color swatches at the bottom of the panel.
You are quite welcome. I've seen it implemented two ways.

1. Like the 'hand' panning tool in most Adobe products, where you're just dragging the screen around.

2. The MS Office way (also used in many other products) where the screen keeps scrolling with a speed proportional to how far the mouse is dragged.

I prefer #1, but it's probably just a personal preference. I find it's much more precise and is less fatiguing when doing lots of panning.

Glad to contribute a small idea. Keep up the great work on a very useful piece of software.

The fact that Creative Docs reacts to the middle button is a small bug; we did not plan to use the middle button for selection! You are right, using a middle-drag to navigate would be quite handy.
Great program, keep the releases coming!

Question: is there anything different about selecting with the middle button as opposed to the left button? In particular, when box-selecting?

If not, I propose that you use the middle button dragging for scrolling, especially now that the scroll wheel is used for zooming. I love the zooming implementation, but having to use the scroll bars is really a pain.

I apologize if this is covered in the French documentation, but I don't read French. :-/ I'm greatly looking forward to the English translation of the manual so I can really understand all of the tools.

We are planning help files in English for the end of the Summer, or early this Fall. For now, you might find some interesting stuff here:
http://www.epsitec.ch/download/cresus/documents/manuel.pdf
which are French versions of the documentation, slightly outdated now, but with lots of hints, tips and tricks and screenshots.
