Ah, yes. You can only merge paths which were converted to line segments. Sorry about that, but the algorithm to keep the curves real curves is above our skill level (for now).

Shapes are merged OK, I agree. But for lines program says "Impossible operation". Curves after "Union" operation do not merge together - they become closed!

Are you aware of the fact that you can right-click on a text block (or text line) and convert it to curves?

And did you see that you can select multiple curves, then use a right-click to get to the Boolean > Union menu, which allows you to merge shapes together?

As for the import/export in SVG format, this is indeed a recurring request.

    Hello.

I have suggestions which seem to be very important.

First, it would be great to have outline property for text. Now text should be converted to curves before you can apply outline to it. It is common task I think when you need text with colored outline.
Second, merging lines/curves is strongly needed (when two nodes merge into one and two different lines/curves actually become one curve). Current group operation is something different though also needed.
And third, import/export to svg or any other common vector files.

Good afternoon, Pierre. If having clamped the button shift to copy object some times (has transferred an object copy, without releasing shift has transferred one more copy and so five or six consecutive times) - the program hangs. Happens is very insulting to lose not kept project then again to start it to recreate with zero.

I have removed a screenshot, the program how hangs. Costs Windows 7 (64) if it is important.
This is one of the main issues with Creative Docs .NET: there is no manual and no help file at all.

To create new pages, you can either use the (+) button in the bottom left corner of the edition window (near the horizontal scrollbar) or select the page tab on the right.

I downloaded your program in great anticipation of it replace my older CorelDraw. I cannot afford to buy the new version and don't qualify for the upgrade. But I am having some trouble finding a few things in your program. I am in particular interested in saving multi page files as a single pdf. Can you please tell me where your help file is located in the program?

    Hello,

One of the features we use the most with CD is the icon export function (by the way, the memory corruption problem that plagued previous versions looks to be corrected); it's great to be able to create .ICO files directly from vector drawings.

But...a request to consider for a future version: Could you either give the option of selecting the image sizes/color depths to be included (maybe just stick the list in an user-editable text file), or (and this option would work just fine for us), just add a 128x128 or 72x72 32-bit alpha image to the file.

The 72x72 is useful because Windows (XP at least) has that as the maximum user-selectable icon size, and we have some older software that insists on having icons at least as big as the user-selected icon size. (Believe it or not, some of our customers are using icons that big.)

Feel free to drop me an e-mail if you have any questions.

You are right, the GUI could use ClearType fonts in order to have a bette legibility. This issue is already in our bug tracker (and has been since 2004, sadly).

We don't use any standard .NET Control for the UI... everything is vector-based, just like in WPF. Having the possibility to scale the UI by any (fractional) ratio seemed a good idea, but we never really used this feature. So indeed, we should be able to layout the text using the typographic hints.

"general layout is as perfect as possible"
Strange to read that.

GUI layout is far from perfect if it hurts user eyes.

Is it not possible to use your feature for documents layout but to leave GUI rendering to operating system (or default .NET controls settings)?
